Divorce Law - White Plains, NY

Our intention is to make every effort to settle the cases we take on. We have long felt it’s in the client’s interest to settle their case, rather than have it decided by a judge. Of course not all can be settled - sometimes it depends who is on the other side. There are some attorneys who love the battle - and who love to run up fees. But I am known as someone you can do business with. And all the better ones, I think, are known for that as well.

A lot of what we do is valuation work - math, really - and numbers have always come easily to me. But that’s only part of it. There is also the process of listening - hearing the stories that our clients have.

I understand money and I understand people - I work hard to learn the issues of a case, and I know how to negotiate, and all of that contributes to a positive outcome.

In fact, what we’re really doing are business transactions - but with various levels of love, hate, fear and family issues built right in. There are tough issues in every divorce. Sometimes we have to fit square pegs into round holes. People often come in with little idea of what’s involved, and there is an education process.

We’re fortunate because our small firm is responsive - divorce law is not suited to large corporate-style firms. This area of the law requires a level of personal interest and sensitivity you don’t see in other areas of the law. That’s one of the reasons I’ve enjoyed it so much all these years.
