Dynamic, charismatic and today with more experience than most of her peers, Florence Fass has long been one of the leading matrimonial attorneys of Southern New York. She deserves special credit for this distinction, in no small part, because she is one of the first women to break into what was once an all-male domain on Long Island.
Ms. Fass has been practicing matrimonial law exclusively for more than three decades. She began her legal career in the litigation department of one of New York City’s top firms, and, after handling the divorce cases of several colleagues, began focusing on matrimonial law in the early 1980s. She was attracted, she says, to the personal and direct way by which she could help her clients, somewhat unique to divorce law.
Her strong background in commercial litigation is a key part of what peers say is an excellent record of success in handling complex matrimonial cases. She is the senior partner of Fass & Greenberg, LLP, where she is a trial attorney, mediator and collaborative lawyer.
Still a vigorous practitioner, Ms. Fass easily handles all areas of matrimonial law, including custody, business valuation, divorce taxation, equitable distribution, support and appeals. She has lectured and written on all aspects of matrimonial law before the New York State Bar and local bar associations, and mentors young attorneys entering the field.
She says she prides herself on her commitment to her clients and their needs, as well as those of her community, where she actively serves as a charitable fundraiser for disadvantaged children.
