Plaintiffs' Personal Injury Law - Woodbury, NY

Every relationship takes time - you build trust and confidence in one another, from the very beginning, the first conversation. I've always made it a point to relate well, not simply to my clients personally, but also to the unique situation they face. I empathize completely with my clients, and they generally see that. And that builds trust. And trust - especially between you and your attorney - is really central to contributing the the positive outcome of any case. Your case.

We are an excellent team of litigators, and if there is ever any doubt about us as lawyers, it's all gone after our clients see us perform in the courtroom. We love to try cases. We are tenacious, prepared and strong advocates - our partner Marvin Salenger has been practicing in the courthouses of New York State for 50 years. That experience and insight helps every one of us, and every one of our clients.

I don't pretend to be the most brilliant barrister - and it's not my style to have any pretense about who I am. But I have curiosity, and persistence. And my clients trust me - to do the right thing for them.

It's true, sometimes people come in looking for the sun, the moon and the stars - a big jury award or settlement. But we approach our cases practically and thoughtfully - we don't sugar-coat things or encourage unrealistic expectations.

There's no question that my heritage has been a big part in how I practice law: My father, who died in 2000, didn't get the formal education that he helped give to me and my brother and sister. But he encouraged values in us - of strong character, and a sense of fairness and justice. I know my clients see those same values in me today. That's why they come to me.

Family has always been important to me, and I've always been grateful for the opportunities I've received. If my mother had been allowed to go to law school, she probably would have been the best lawyer in the family.

Some people who knew me when I was young are surprised I made this my profession - I was fairly reserved back then, hardly a showoff. And trial law requires a powerful assertiveness - I have no problem speaking up today, but I let my actions speak for me. My preparation, my strategy, my approach in the courtroom.

I like to say: 'Let me show you how much I can do for you. Let my actions talk more than my words.' The fact is we're not a firm of ambulance chasers.

I think clients see me as someone they can talk to, and trust. I can relate to everyone - and I'm proud of that. That's who I am - and that's why I love what I do. I can't imagine doing anything else - I'm helping people, at a time when they most need my help. Why would you use your license to practice law for anything else?
