I don't want to sound immodest but my office is filled with letters of how we've changed people's lives. That's why I got into this. To be able to right a wrong is an extremely rewarding feeling. I love trying cases; I have my entire career.
Every lawyer will tell you this: It's the chemistry between the attorney and the client that contributes to a successful outcome. If you don't feel comfortable with each other, it's probably better that the client look somewhere else for representation. People are putting their life in my hands - they should feel comfortable with me. I come from humble beginnings, and I've always taken seriously the commitment I make to my clients, wherever they come from, whatever their background.
I very much enjoy working with young, smart lawyers - I lecture and make presentations frequently. My brother is a teacher, and teaching has always been in my blood. And trial law is really what I love to teach as much as practice.
As the years go by, I can say the cases have gotten a little easier for me. I think it has always come naturally to me, but you gain more insight with each case; I can anticipate outcomes better, and prepare accordingly.
I'm not in the courtroom every day, but I can still say it's almost my second home. I still love it - why stop doing what you love?
